My Approach and Services
I work with adult individuals and couples in Washington state as both a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and certified nutritionist (CN). I graduated from Bastyr University with a master’s of science in nutrition and a master’s of arts in counseling psychology. I received my bachelor's of science in physiology/biology from the University of Washington.
My therapeutic work focuses on working with individuals struggling with disordered eating, outpatient level eating disorders, and challenging relationships to food, body, and movement which I approach from a weight neutral and Intuitive Eating lens.
In addition, I work with various other mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, trauma, personal growth and identity, life transitions, assimilation, codependency, boundary setting, emotional regulation, grief/loss, and more.
I also work with adult couples who are struggling with aspects of their relationship including communication, trust, emotional security, and life style transitions. Any of these concerns I approach from an attachment based perspective and integrate a humanistic and process based approach.
Overall, I gravitate towards a psychodynamic and humanistic approach. I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Psychotherapy, Attachment Theory, relational theories, and somatic theories in my work.
I am not a solution focused therapist but rather a process based therapist who is interested in guiding you in your process of self-discovery. My hope is to empower you in building a life that is in congruence of your values, and process through the resilient ways in which you have learned to adapt to and/or cope with this world. I find that the more we are able to truly see ourselves, without judgement, the more we are able to make decisions from a place of authenticity versus reactivity.
